Petit Manan Point
National Wildlife Refuge in Steuben, Maine
Difficulty: Easy to moderate.
Petit Manan Point in Steuben is home to a mainland portion of the Coastal Maine Islands National Wildlife Refuge. Two beautiful hiking trails visit the shore on both sides of the point.
Schoodic Mtn & Beach
Donnell Pond Public Lands near Franklin
Difficulty: Moderate to challenging.
Rising 1,069 feet above sea level in eastern Maine, Schoodic Mountain offers a 360-degree view of the region. The hike also visits the beautiful, sandy shore of Donnell Pond, a location known as Schoodic Beach.
Black Mtn & Beach

Difficulty: Moderate to challenging.
Rising 1,049 feet above sea level, Black Mountain belongs to a cluster of mountains in eastern Maine that are preserved within the state-owned Donnell Pond Unit. From its bald east peak, hikers can enjoy a 360-degree view of the region. The hike also visits a beach on Donnell Pond.
Tunk Mountain

Difficulty: Moderate to challenging.
Rising 1,157 feet above sea level, Tunk Mountain is one of the tallest peaks in eastern Maine. Hiking trails explore the mossy forest and pristine ponds at the foot of the mountain, then lead up to open ledges near its summit.
Ingersoll Point Preserve
Addison, Maine
Difficulty: Easy to moderate.
This beautiful preserve, owned and managed by the Downeast Coastal Conservancy, is home to about 3.5 miles of trails that travel through an enchanting mossy forest to the coast.
